Volunteers in Haiti at Brit’s Orphanage

On Wednesday morning I brought into Haiti my Nephew Ross and one of our Be like Brit Hero’s PJ.  Ross will be in charge of all volunteers in Haiti for the next two months!  He will greet Britsionary’s at the airport in Port au Prince with Lex and Mr Big, that’s the guy you ask for when you walk out of the airport and into the hustle of Haiti, Big will make sure you make

PJ is a very interesting guy, I have a lot of love in my heart for him, as well as respect for the leadership he has shown over the past 16 months since the earthquake!  You see, PJ was one of the 8 surviving students from Lynn U who was in Haiti with Britney!  PJ and I have had several conversations about how hard it is to live with Survivors Guilt.  He has dedicated his life to helping people and is currently in a Masters Program at Barry University in Social Work!  PJ and Ross have become good friends over the past 5 months, which is kind of funny in a way,  because Ross (Brit’s Cousin) moved to Ft Lauderdale and has hung out with a lot of Brit’s friends, I guess we all want to feel a little closer to Brit?  PJ is one of my Hero’s, with all he struggles with, he still had the courage to go back into Haiti to honor Brit and those that didn’t make it out of the Hotel Montana that Fateful Day!  What the surviving 8 Students of Lynn University saw, lived thru and experienced for 48 hours of living hell on earth after the earthquake, will have forever changed their lives, as well as our own families lives!! rosspj 181x300 Volunteers in Haiti at Brit’s Orphanage

PJ and Ross will be working at Brit’s Orphanage Site, Mission of Hope’s site and throughout Grand Goave until July 28th!  They will struggle at times I’m sure, they will laugh, they will love the children of Haiti and they will grow accustomed to Haitian life!  I left them on Friday Morning feeling that these first two Britsionary’s will develop a plan, a process, an experience so that all future Britsionary’s will honor Brit’s last wish, which was to help the Children of Haiti!!!  If you have any interest to Volunteer in Haiti, please (download the brochure)  go to the Britsionary link at www.belikebrit.org and sign up to “Be like Brit”!!!
