In Britney’s memory, her family has established a non profit organization called Be Like Brit; whose mission is to serve the children of Haiti by establishing a safe, nurturing and sustainable orphanage in an environment where they can grow, learn & thrive. Tradespeople Volunteer Trips
Some of the work that needs to be done is not common in Haiti, and we would like American tradespeople to help build and teach their Haitian counterparts their skills and techniques.
We are in need of skilled finish carpenters, cabinetmakers, and painters to volunteer with BLB to help finish the construction of Brit’s orphanage.
Dates:
September: finish carpenter and cabinetmakers
9/9 – 9/15 (6 nights)
9/16 – 9/22 (6 nights)
October*: painters
November*: painters
*Specific dates depend on how quickly construction progresses over the summer, and will be set at a later time.
Cost:
6 Night Trip
Total Cost: $1,095 per person
Nonrefundable payment due dates:
$100 – 11 weeks prior to trip
$600 – 9 weeks prior to trip
$395 – 4 weeks prior to trip
Total cost includes your round-trip airfare, flight insurance, in country transportation, food, board, and travel insurance. All payments are nonrefundable.
Fundraising:
Once you apply and are accepted, you can begin the process of fundraising to help support your trip. We will provide you with your personal fundraising website to help you get started. Britsionarys are encouraged to put together creative fundraisers to help them get the necessary funds to make their trip to Haiti. Some ideas include auctions, t-shirts, dinner parties, and yard sales.
