As we approach our 15th anniversary, we reflect on the incredible journey that has brought us to where we are today. What started with a dream to honor Brit’s legacy has grown into a community of support, creating brighter futures for the children of Haiti. Together, we have transformed lives and your belief in us is what makes all the difference.
The holiday season is always a special time at Be Like Brit, a time to celebrate the progress we’ve made and the children who have blossomed over the years. Even in a country facing incredible challenges, Brit’s Home is filled with the joy and warmth of the season.

This year, we want to share the inspiring story of one of our recent graduates, Mirna. Mirna joined Be Like Brit as a young girl, arriving with her siblings from Thozin, Grand Goâve, Haiti. At just seven years old, she had already experienced the harsh realities of hunger and poverty. But from day one, Mirna showed a spirit of resilience and gratitude. She was always thankful for every meal, every opportunity, and every lesson.
Now, Mirna is preparing for the next chapter of her life attending one of Haiti’s top universities and continuing to pursue her dreams. She’s excelled in school, becoming a top student and a leader among her peers. Mirna’s story is one of hope, perseverance, and transformation, a true testament to the power of education and love.
This holiday season, as we reflect on the past 15 years, we’re filled with gratitude for the support you’ve given us. It is because of you that children like Mirna are able to achieve their dreams.
The journey ahead is not without challenges. In Haiti, hunger continues to affect millions, with 5.4 million people facing food insecurity and 2 million at emergency levels of hunger. Inflation remains high, and political instability has made life even harder for many families. Yet, in the face of these struggles, we remain steadfast in our mission to provide education, safety, and love to children in need.
We know that the future of Be Like Brit is bright, thanks to your unwavering support. Together, we’ve helped transform lives, and together, we will continue to create a brighter tomorrow for the next generation of leaders.
