Happy Father’s Day weekend to all of those that support us and love us at Be LIke Brit.

I was blessed with a dad who was such a hard worker. He worked two jobs my entire life and he showed me so many things in regards to work ethic, integrity, honesty and commitment to his wife and eight children. As a dad to Brit, Bernie and Richie he taught me about commitment and dedication to my family. To their hard work and passions and now, to the last 12 years of commitment to Haiti and honoring Brit’s memory. Today, it is not only about Britney’s memory, it is about our 66 children, 8 of which are living in transition housing. It is amazing to see them grow.

We couldn’t do any of this without all of you and I thank you on this father’s day for giving me the ability to continue Brit’s compassion in caring for our 66 kids in Haiti.

I was looking forward to being in Haiti this weekend. Bernie was there for a couple of months and I had not seen my kids since I had a problem back in February where I passed out after a long day of work in the hot sun and discovered that the right side of my corroded artery needed to be fixed. Thankfully, I got a 20 year warranty and I am ready to go!

But sadly, I couldn’t go to Haiti because of the problems in the country. The UN gave a report yesterday sharing that approximately 4.5 million people in Haiti (almost half the population) need food immediately. The country has not had a government for almost 2 years, the president was assassinated almost a year ago and Port Au Prince is being taken over by gangs. The president of the Dominican Republic said this past week at the Meeting of the Americas In Los Angeles that he cannot understand how a country could be run without government, without help from the United States. This is dangerous.

We pray hard for Haiti and we are grateful for your help and support over these past twelve years. Though we cannot control what goes on in Haiti we can control what goes on inside of Brit’s Home. For that we are very grateful. We have a dedicated staff with the leadership of Manmi Love and have been so blessed with committed Haitian people who have embraced our vision of raising the next generation of leaders in Haiti.

I want to thank you for your support, your help, your prayers and hope to continue with Faith Hope and Love on this Father’s Day.

Thank you and god bless,

Len
